- Auburnwine - 06-07-2002 I have had two reds that were just the most outstanding (non-fortified) wines that I've had in my life. They were the Peter Lehmann 1999 Barossa Shiraz and the 1997 Edmeades Zin. Oh, so good. What was your favorite? Please: nothing too obscure. I'll never be able to find it. - Innkeeper - 06-07-2002 One was a 1978 Val di Suga, Brunello di Montalcino, bought in 1985 for $13, and consumed in 1995. Just thinking about it brings back the finish. - winoweenie - 06-07-2002 Think if you go back on the individual thread you'll find both wines hjave been reviewed, and favorably too. WW - Drew - 06-07-2002 Auburnwine, '98 Pirramimma Shiraz for $16 "floated my boat" and I still have 9 in the cellar. I just posted notes on the '98 Barossa which was , in retrospect, a steal for $16, it's beautiful right now. Drew - winoweenie - 06-08-2002 The 94 Markham Napa Cab stands on a pedestal in the weeners cellar. As good as some Lafites' I've had at the remarkable 17 per tag.
