Zinner, you certainly do have to challenge when something like that happens, and it does happen to men too.

I'd say, either speak up or do not patronize that restaurant (perhaps both, if speaking up gets you nowhere).

I think we are saying the same things in different ways.

The point is - definitely speak up ( I prefer nice to firm, nice does pay in a restaurant - assholes tend to be discredited)let the waitstaff know that you will be evaluating the wine and go from there.
