Good article in the issue of global warming in the Houston Chronicle at (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4487421.html

Wish more talking heads would examine the issue more closely instead of calling for decertification of opposing peers, as the Weather Channel's reporterette has done.

Interesting view from the middle.

It's actualy becoming amusing reading all the various and totally divergent views about global warming and the current weather patterns we're experiencing in North America. There are so many different "eminent" climatological scientists coming out with papers to explain the weather, and of course the total climate, that a new paper comes out almost weekly. You can come to virtually any conclusion you want to just by finding the view you decide seems the most "real" and espousing it.

I agree KC. Whatever side you are on, you can find mountains of info backing you. Yet the mountain on the other side of the road is just as high. In the end, you mine as well just believe what you like and wait for time to tell.

FWIW and IMHO I really don't give a rats-patootie about anything that I have no control over nor that will determine how I spend the rest of time I have left. I walk away from arguments because they're not something one wins but something that makes for animosity, derisiveness, and hostility while not changing anyones mind. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion but that doesn't mean I/you/or anyone else has to agree. Let's please try to keep this forum focused on the fun and adventure of wine.WW ( No winking, blinking or nod characters on this post. I'm dead serious)

Sort of what I was saying, WW, but more to the point.

Actually, WW, the R&R section is like your local bar -- an open forum for any topic that concerns people. This is where we solve the world's problems.

After taking the course on global warming over the winter semester, I'm more convinced than ever that global warming is going on. How much this will impact humanity is still up in the air as far as I'm concerned.

I'll be dead and gone before any of these dire predictions come about, if they truly do come about. This is one reason there is not more urgency about the issue -- it is the next or the next generation's problem.
