According to WS (5/31 edition) Dick Earth who has wintered in Arizona is moving there full or most time. He has 200 acres in the high desert near Wilcox and is going to plant 12 of the acres with Syrah, Tempranillo, and other reds. Don't know when he'll get the wine to WW's pusher.

I'll be excited to see what happens with it. As a lover of the Tempranillo grape, I really think it can work in the States if the right microclimate is found for it.

Stopped in at FW Webb when I was driving back east from CA back in 1989. I was less than overwhelmed.
