1998 Chateau de Lascaux Coteaux du Languedoc Pic St.-Loup Les Nobles Pierres. $14.99 a bottle; 2,900 cases produced.

my first wine from the languedoc. color of deep red/burgundy with purple around the edges. BIG, deep nose of dark fruit & alcohol. flavors of spicy, smoky dark fruit and a little bit of metallic/mineral. nice finish with medium tannins. IMHO a very nice bottle of wine that will only get better with time; great value. WS gave it a 91 and "highly recommended."

NOTE: you should definitely let this wine breathe for a while. also, after half a bottle spent the night with a vacu-vin, i found that it lost quite a bit of taste on the second day. definitely a one-sitting drinker.

i bet that won't be too hard for the folks on this board

cheers!
