2002 Cline, Oakley Five Reds, California ($8 Blue Hill Wine Shop). Alcohol level 13.5%. This is a blend of Carignane, Grenache, Mouverdre, Syrah, and Zinfandel from various places in California. It is recommended for rich, spicy, BBQ type meals.

Gives you black berries and pepper on the nose and upfront. The middle is filled with complex fruit, chewy tannin, and moderate oak. The finish is quick but memorable.

Matched it with Salisbury Steak in mushroom sauce, roasted fingerling potatoes, and salad in freshly made blue cheese dressing (did a lot of cooking today). All went splendidly together.
