- Drew - 07-27-2005 ["RP 89. There are 6,000 cases of the 2004 Carro, a tank-fermented and aged, un-oaked blend of 50% Mourvedre, 20% Syrah, 20% Tempranillo, and 10% Merlot. It reveals terrific fruit intensity, copious black cherries and wild mountain berries, and notions of licorice, flowers, roasted meats, and chocolate. With supple tannin, low acidity, and abundant fruit, it is a joy to drink as well as a spectacular value. Consume it over the next 12-18 months. This estate is one of the top discoveries of all my tastings."] I couldn't agree more with Bob, although I'm not sure what wild mountain berries taste like. It's nicely complex and a wonderful wine for which I paid $8. It's very rich with hints of ruby port in the long finish. Eileen and I drank 2 in 2 nights. I've ordered a case and don't know how I'm gonna keep my hands off of this great value. 14.5% Alc/vol. It sports a very simple and child like label which you can view here. http://www.supercellars.com/online/product.asp?product_id=12858 Drew - hotwine - 07-27-2005 Sounds great, Drew. Thanks, I'll look for it. |
