I wasnt sure where this question would belong as i am neew to this site.
I was wondering where the best place is to RENT grapevines. I have heard from friends that it is possible to rent grapevines and have the wine made from them delivered to you. I thought this would be a lovely gift for my father as he is really into wines. So i was wondering if anyone knew of the best places to buy/rent them at reasonable prices?
I would really appreciate your help. Thanks!

Hi Sarah, and welcome to the Wine Board. It is the consensus around here that the rent-a-vine deals are a scam. Sorry.

Hi Sarah0102 and welcome to the board. The last time I heard of this gimmick was some vineyards in the Temecula area doing this to increase cash flow. The wines were not particularly good and the price was boorish. A better idea is to go to your local wineshop that offers Bordeaux futures, buy him a few cases of the marvelous 2000 vintage, then sit back, and on delivery, watch him beam. WW
