($13.99) had a bottle of this 3 weeks ago and was very impressed. pulled the cork and the aromas lept out of the bottle, screaming "this is SHIRAZ done right!" wasn't able to take notes, but will post those soon, since i went back and bought a case of this (at $11.89 per) -- and i bet many of you will do the same. when i heard that sparky marquis was making a shiraz at this price point i had to try it (being that i'm a HUGE fan of his henry's drive wines, especially the cab). i've heard that RP loved this new line, giving this shiraz and the sarah's blend (shiraz/cab) both 93 scores, and that he gave a 92 to the cab. (i prefered the shiraz to the blend; haven't tasted the cab yet). i don't know how many bottles sparky made of this stuff, but considering the price and quality (and now these darned high scores), you better go get yourself some soon. great juice for the dollar. they are drinking great now, and i'd guess they'll improve then hold for quite a while.

I'm all confused. The purchases I made were of the 2001, not 2000 as I posted earlier. I guess the vintage year being six months ahead of California had me confused.

I bought eight bottles of the 2001 Sarah's Blend (one of my favorites) and four bottles of the Shiraz, one bottle each of the Henry's Drive cabernet and cabernet reserve (yummy). I think I will be using two bottles of either the 2001 Sarah's Blend or the Shiraz for an upcoming church dinner in January (if we go with the standing rib roast). Also have four or five bottles of the Marquis-Philips Cabernet from 2001.

Doesn't Sparky make "Parson's Flat" as well?
One amazingly sexy wine! Sadly it's $costly too.
$34ish
Curious if "Whoop Whoop" is available in other markets? Nice little $8-9 bottle of Shiraz.

We've got plenty of Woop-Woop in our area and I picked up a box of the 2001 Sarah's Blend yesterday at $10 per bottle case price.

Yes, he makes the Parson's Flat shiraz/cabernet blend for the Longbottom family. I have two bottles of that stashed away but I think it's the 2000 which had a rating of 91 from RP. The 2001 is supposed to be even better (perhaps 95 or 96!) I don't always go by RP's ratings, but I did really like the Parson's Flat also. Haven't had a bad wine yet from Sparky and Sarah Marquis--only grades of good and gooder!
