Had dinner last night with my son and his wife and my new grandaughter and brought this as one of the bottles consumed.
Somewhat closed nose of sweet dark fruit, leather and herb. Dark color, not opaque. Nice flavors of plum and black cherry with some mushroom and earthy flavors. Similar to the Les Garriques but in perfect harmony. This wine is about balance and elegance. Nothing's over the top...just a symphony of nice flavors and scents singing together. Alc. 14% Vol. Paid $16 per in the bargain bin.

You got a nice bottle at a steal! I have some 95s in the cellar.

Popped another last night and good, googly, moogly. Hugh, hugh wine. Nothing like my notes above. Black in the glass. Hugh nose of herb infused blackberry, earth, candied orange peel and creme de Chambord. Flavors follow nose, very complex and layered still with massive tannins (I let mine sit for over 1 hour after the first sip). The three of us sat for several hours just sippin and smellin in wine heaven. I believe my last bottle, hope i'm wrong, one of my all time favorites.
