We just got back from a trip to Amador/El Dorado County wine county. Tried and bought the 1997 Syrah from Terre Rouge (Sentinel Oakl-Pyramid Block). Wow this is a beauty. I would say it can hold its own with any California Syrah. Might be the best 1997 out there. Will the Foothill Region become the Syrah district of Calif? Any challengers?
