Tom made a concious efort in this difficult vintage to make a quality wine and succeeded. He severely selected only ripe berries and it shows here. A muscular dude that wont get any sand kicked in it's face. Not quite up to the super 97 or 99 but enjer-a-bubble. Still shrouded with tannins but with bacon-fat infused with a touch of caramel and a whiff of roses. If the finish were longer this pup could join the big hounds in the outstanding kennel. 88/90.WW
