This was the first wine of the afternoon. Brite ruby with every component focused and finished. Lovely black fruits, earth, a little funk that adds complexity, and spices make the nose excited and all come over on the palate.About as good as Syrah gets here in the states. 91/93. 20 by the box mailing list. 13.1% alcWW

WW- it's CG -(fyi- this is my aunt's user name- please look out for her)- how exactly do I/we join the mailing list?

I tried and all I can get is an address and Phone number. They don't have a web site. Is it a special, elite club or what? Should we just go there?

CG if you call Tom Dehlinger at 707-823-2378, leave your number and explain you'd like to get on the mailing list he'll return your call. Feel free to use my name, mite help, mite not. WW

Will do- I'll tell him that WW sent me!

CG as long as you're getting on mailing list you should also try Scherrer Wine Cellars. Fred was Tom Dehlingers' winemaker for 10 years before striking out on his own. His family owns some of the oldest vineyards in Sonoma so his access to superior grapes helps. IMHO he mnakes some of the greatest Zins around, equaling Ridge. Hios phone is 707 824-1933. Use the same tactics, flawed as they may be. WW

Should I tell them to put it on your account??

(Heehee- jk!)

Thanks again!

WW- I registered online with Scherrer and sent them a back-up e-mail with my info.

My work day is short tomorrow, so I had planned on calling Dehlinger in the afternoon.

Thanks again!

Any idea when Loring's next release date is?

- Kcwhippet - 06-02-2004

Brian Loring usually sends out his mailer about early October. Are you sure TB would approve? If you had last year's mailer and had ordered the full allocation, it would have cost you $662.40 ($736 less 10%). Add that to the Dehlinger, Scherrer and any others and you're starting to talk serious bucks. Probably OK if you toss in a few good ports.

Father Dearest, it's not my fault you taught me to appreciate the finer things in life!

(The secret is figuring out how to manage it on my budget!)

WW- rec'd an e-mail from Judi Scherrer today. She put me on the mailing list and sent me a newsletter.

KC- Scherrer's prices are quite reasonable. I believe that you wanted me to get the Loring and Siduri... are you trying to save it all for yourself?
