Over the last year this producer has replaced Randahl Graham as my favorite "off-the-wall" winemaker. This is as good a young Syrah as I've had. A blend from 4 vineyards in the Columbia Valley. Opaque almost purple. Nose has nice meaty, black fruits, spicy, and barnsey edges and all hit the palate along with just a touch of an almost coal dust character. Solid entry, weighty center and a 4+ lapper finish. 91/92 28 14.1% alc WW

Sounds good. I would like to try their Pinot Noirs also--I may have to order some wines directly from the winery.

O'Reilly is really starting to source from far and wide. I remember when he first branched out from Oregon and started tinkering with Washington grapes. Now he's got everything from Walla Walla Cabs to Santa Maria Pinots, and it seems everything he puts out is good stuff. Thanks for the notes on this. We've seen it locally, but haven't picked it up yet.

Wonders -- the Sharecroppers Pinot Noir is a particularly good value, especially considering Oregon PN prices nowadays.

Thanks for the tip, Dan. I may wait until fall to order from them since we are getting into hot weather in North Carolina now. I will contact them however about getting e-mails so I know when wines are released.
