I have been on a wine slump for the past several weeks. Nothing I have had has really gotten me excited. Decided to open this bottle that I carried with me back from France in Oct of 06. The slump is over. Wow.

Beautiful and rich nose of mint, plum and coffee. Deep and rich flavors of chocolate, plum and concentrated fruit that just gush over the palate. Long and wonderful finish. It reminds me of a thick and lovely Cali Syrah but has that black fruit and bacon flavor profile of the Northern Rhone. Manages to be the best of both worlds. The word "lush" just continued to come to mind as we drank this wine. Absolutely fantastic bottle. Just what I needed.

Paid 30 euros in Tain Hermitage while visiting. Wish I had purchased more.
