$15 at Spec's. Very dark pink, almost light red in color, but defintely rose in style. Cherry and strawberry, rich but very dry, a very nice tavel. Great summer wine and one of the best roses I've had lately.

I like the Tavel rose' wines. I have a Bruno Clair Marsannay Rose' I will open soon but may still have a Tavel and a Chinon rose' also.

Haven't had the 05 from these guys but we're big fans of Provencal rosés and the earlier vintages of this (not sure if we last had 03 or 04) were very nice indeed. This is in the range of what we would consider a heavy bodied rosé. We'll drink Tavels with spicy food. We do however look for the light bodied rosés for quenching our thirst with shellfish.

I agree this particular wine is heavy, not for shellfish but ideal for a barbecue.

I confess to drinking this SR in the summer. Makes for the perfect companion for stuff and things off the grill. WW

And now for the 2006. $18 at Spec's (the 2005 was $15 - a 30% increase - stupid exchange rate).

Very nice this year too. Very similar to the 2005. Very full in the mouth, a food wine with strawberry and cherry. This will be in the rotation again this year, although perhaps less often - $18 is getting up there for a rose. It may be a tavel, it's still a rose.
