Had never had the pleezure of this lil' gem 'afore but will pay lotsa more attention on the release dates. Super-veracious nose that is almost burgandian. Forest floor,a tad of leather, lots of spicy, black fruity, and a glassful of tasty juice. Entry is solid Rhone. Think it's all Syrah but not sure. Only 30 barrels of this dude processed. ( About 750 cases.) In contention
for the most complex P/Q bottles I've tasted since Tuesday. 14 in case lots. 90/90. WW

California Rhone? (You're making my mouth water!)

My note:

2000 MacRostie, Syrah, Blue Oaks Vineyard, Paso Robles, California, $20. Smoked meat, red cherries, and white pepper spice highlight this medium-bodied wine. Tannins are very manageable, finishing with moderate vanilla notes. 87/88.

The reason I scored it higher Sir Buckmeister was the 14 buck tag. WW
