- hotwine - 04-06-2007 Thought WW had posted on this, but only found his mention of having it on St Paddy's Day. A blend of fruit from 60 yr old Durif vines and 100+ yr old Grenache, from the McDowell Valley vineyard, 2/3 Durif, 1/3 Grenache. As a sipper with chocolate after services last night, then with popcorn while watching the Spurs and Suns slug it out. Deep red, very Rhone-like nose, subtle flavors of red fruits on the palate, very nice finish. Would not have guessed this to have any Durif at all, much less that it be 2/3 of the blend. Would be a great burger wine. 13% alc/vol and $18.70 club price from the winery. Only 37 cases produced. - winoweenie - 04-06-2007 I've been drinking the 03. Killer stuff. Will open one of the 04s' in the near future. WW |
