Man this thing is DARK!!... Looked like it was gonna be a monster.....

The nose was actually kinda mute. Some dark berries, a perfumey wood that blew off after a while. On the palate, the tannins are definitely there but the fruit is much softer...almost flabby and some tea/spice flavors. It's okay for the price $22CDN or must be less usd.

Haven't you heard, we are at par these days.

I noted that ......it's been tough for me.

In the last six years, the USD has lost almost 50% of its value. I can no longer go to the pricier areas of Europe (which explains my recent locations of Portugal, Greece, Turkey, etc,... and not London, Paris, ..... Lake Como....

Here in Canada, I feel absolutely poor. The salaries on Canada have risen like crazy in the last few years and in whereas we understand that cities such as Vancouver and Toronto are very expensive to live in (the average price of nice areas like West Van and Rosedale) but not the nicest average in the $4 million range....it is the standard average price of homes in Calgary and Edmonton that scare me. An average middleclass home in Calgary is approaching $600K and edmonton is not far behind. Makes Boston look inexpensive by comparison.

I can't spend here. I can't afford anything.....I feel bloody poor.....

For some reason though, I was able to pick up a few bottles of the 2002 Clos du Papes CDP for $42 CDN which is just a bit cheaper than Wally's.

(then again the 6 pack of Hillside select was selling for $338x6....ouch....the importer is making a killing).
