OK, so I am not ready to post detailed tasting notes as I am still working my way through samples of the 3 cases that I bought, but you guys have to keep an eye out for Parsonage Village Vineyards in Carmel Valley. A couple links to the winery and some local yokal reviews:

I have a good buddy and hobbiest winemaker in Santa Clara that has been telling me for years that I needed to do a full day in the central coast, specifally so he could take me to Parsonage. Well, two weeks ago the opportunity presented itself and went to Carmel Valley together. We had several stops planned, but never made it past Parsonage Village Vineyard in Carmel.
Bill Parsons is the winemaker, and this is some seriously good stuff. We tasted through everything in his lineup, including the barrels of the 05 vintage and even grapes samples he had out in the vineyard.
Yes, he hangs the grapes looooong to get optimal ripeness. Yes, these wines are super ripe and harvested at high brix levels. However, they are well structured and wonderfully tasty. No, this wine is not for everyone, only for those that have a palate for hedonistic and wonderfully ripe and delicious juice.
I plan to reserve posting on the specific wines until I receive my order, let them rest, then drink them in my own kitchen at my own pace.
Anyway, take a look, ask around, look Bill up next time you are in the area. Buy a few to sample and be rewarded. He only does around 1200 or so cases, so this winery is totally off the "radar".

I doubt that any will find their way east as all of his wines are 100 cases or less.

Drew, their standard estate syrah is 35 bucks. Order a bottle and try it. It is crazy good. Give it two hours of air though...
