- TheEngineer - 08-30-2007 This is a pretty decent wine for the price. Apparently 70% Grenache, 30% Syrah from some of their oldest vines (with an average age of 30 years) Nice deep purple garnet colour. Great serious fruit nose of dark cherries, berries and an older wood in the background. Medium to full bodied, on the palate, tannic herby, hint of pepper (but not bad), still with a nice fusion of berries, but it is a bit hot at the end. Could use a bit more time I think to get it all together and all this for $15. - Bucko - 08-31-2007 "hint of pepper (but not bad" A peppery streak is a positive for me. - TheEngineer - 08-31-2007 oops...I meant black pepper...as in a bit spicy. but only a hint - Bucko - 09-01-2007 Black pepper, white pepper, cracked peppercorns...bring it on. Glad I don't have any more. It's holding up but it's pretty muted by now, and definitely on the downhill. In fact, did not finish ..(gasp!!)... - winoweenie - 10-19-2010 MY......MY.........MY!!!!!!!!!!!!ww |
