- winoweenie - 04-28-2006 Had this at lunch today at a freinds. Brilliant ruby. Nose of black fruits, earth, saddle leather, barny-notes and some spices. All come over on the taste. Soft entry, solid center and a nice 3&1/2-lapper finish. Lovely rhoneski. 88. I'm unfamiliar with this vernacular, could you explain. Thanks. RS - winoweenie - 04-29-2006 No apologies needed RedS. This is merely my way of measuring how long the finish on wines are. I take a swig, roll it around the ole mouth till all is covered, then take my tongue and scrape it from the tip as far out as I can. One scrape = one lap. If the taste of the juice is still there after 3 scrapes but barely, it's a 3-lapper and so on. Hopefully this clears this up for you. WW |
