By the good people at Beaucastel. $12 at Costco (and the last of my Costco run - there was also a pleasant Sancerre VV by Cottat in there, but it was last week and I don't remember enough about it to post).

Very dark purple. I thought there was leather and pepper on the nose, and the nose gave me a first impression of power. Same impression on the palate. It seems like it can age. Medium finish, good tannin support. Very good value in my opinion.

I have liked the wines I've tried from Beaucastel (mostly their inexpensive ones.)
