1998 Terre Rouge, Sierra Foothills, Syrah ($22). This is their "regular" syrah viz-a-viz the Pyramid Block one that we popped on Easter. It weighs in at a mere 13.5 % alcohol, with 3.46 PH, and 6.5 gm/ltr acidity. A winner. Pepper, fruit, and spice on the nose and upfront. Great varietal nuances including spice and smoke with smooth tannin across the palate. Also, a finish that made you wanting more. Matched wonderfully with simply broiled lamb loin chops and salad. Go get some.
