- JohnG - 06-03-2002 Opened a bottle of this the other night with asparagus & mushroom risotto. I assume that this is a blend, but of what I don't know. The wine was dry, medium-bodied (12.5 or 13% alcohol, depending on whether you believe the front or the back label), and nicely balanced fruit -- mostly gooseberry and melon, I think -- with mineral flavors. At under $10, a good quaffer for the summertime. - Innkeeper - 06-03-2002 Many thanks John. Have been looking for a widely distributed value in white CDR. - zenda2 - 06-05-2002 FYI, Innkeeper, I've also been happy with the various white CdR's from 'Perrin Reserve' that I've had over the past few years. - Kcwhippet - 06-06-2002 What a coincidence. We had the Guigal Cotes du Rhone Blanc last night. In addition to JohnG's observation, we also noticed some apple notes in the taste, not green apple but a nice taste like a sweet eating apple. Nice wine. |
