Killed another baby. Loads of black and red fruits along with nice acid balance are completely overridden by massive tannins that shut this lovely bottle down on the 2nd sip. Needs another 3-5 to come together. Was my lunch bottle so 'twere gone before the chicken, bacon, and cheese wrap was finished. Will rate this later. 14.9% alc. 35 on futures. WW

Opened another yesterday wirth lunch. Has deefinately shed some tannins and come together since the last bottle. The earth, bacon fat, barnyard are all showing up in the nose along with some deep black fruits and tar. All come over on the p[alate. Solis entry, weighty center and a nice 4 lapper finish. Still needs time to come completely together but a solid effort. 90/90. 14.9% alc. WW

Had this last nite whilst watching Idol along with the 03. Lovely effort and seems like this varietal has a place in the Dehlinger line-up besides being one of Toms' personal drinking favorites. Both still can stand another 1-3 to reach the summit. Solid suckers. No change in scoring. WW

Any favorites, either the Dehlingers or Idols?

Lots of talent on both sides of this subject. Will know more in a couple of weeks on the Idol end and a couple of years on the Syrah end. WW

Hit on another of these suckers yesterday for lunch. Coming along swimmingly but can still use another 1-2 to hit topsville. Beautiful drinking anywhoos. Kick this lovely up to a solid 91. WW

Opened another during the "down" period and it is still clinging to a modicum of baby-fat. The aromatics have improved significately over the past year and you wont mistake this hummer with a pinot. Nice mouthfeel and a solid 4 lapper finish. Mark another sucess from Toms' stable. WW
