1999 Domaine Brusset, Cairanne, Cotes du Rhone Villages, mis en bouteille au domaine, proprietaire-recoltant a Cairnne, France.

Dark ruby red, crystal clear CDRV with plenty of earth-tones accentuated with raspberry and cherry-like flavors on the palate, but not on the nose. The nose says barnyard, tobacco, straw and shite, (quite frankly the nose says EARTH).

The tongue says there really is fruit in this wine and the finish says there is some tannin and there is something that just lasts and lasts and lasts with a twinge of the initial smell of earth and a long curve back to the fruit.............

All this for less than twenty bucks.....

Not a bad road to travel at all.

Anyone else had the pleasure of trying this stuff?

(In other terms, this stuff smells awful at first; then translates to a wonderful nose for a farmer; and then, manages to taste pretty darn good.)
