What kind of wine would match best with ratatouille?

A Chianti Reserve or a nice Calif Zin. WW and how unexcusibly rude of me...Welcome to the board. I got excited as ratta is one of my very favorite dishes. ww

Hi Newbiedrew, and welcome to the wine board. My gut reaction was to go with a Cotes Du Rhone, but a ratay needs more acid. The Chianti would work, but we would go with something closer like a Piedmont Barbera d'Asti, or a Cru Beaujolais such as a Morgon or Moulin de Vent.

A summer veggie rat might go with a dry Riesling, I would think. Let us not forget the good SW's.

IK, I think you had it right the first time. Grenache from the South of France--Cotes du Rhone, Cotes du Provence, Cotes du Ventoux.
