What are people's suggestions to accompany these entrees?
1) penne pasta with sauteed chicken, baby spinach, roasted red peppers and romano cheese, covered in a cream sauce with a hint of crushed red pepper
2) grilled salmon drizzled with a lemon-basil olive oil, steamed broccoli and oven roasted potatoes

My vote goes to Tommasi Pinot Grigio for both menus.

I would vote for Vermentino with the chicken pasta, and a non-Bolla, non-Folonari Valpolicella with the salmon.

I vote with IK, although instead of Vermentino you can use a good Soave, which comes from the same region as the Valpolicella.

I love Pinot Noir with salmon. A village Volnay is a possible match or, if you can locate it, Bearboat Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley of California. Pinot Grigio is a good suggestion for the penne dish. Another possibility is a Riesling Kabinett.
