A Terry Theise Estate Selection.
12% alcohol Artificial cork.
I chose a half-bottle of this dry white riesling to accompany a dinner at Nora Restaurant in D.C. (They also had a half-bottle of an Alsatian Riesling but it was about $9.00 more).
Medium straw color. Very dry but still pleasant. A few bubbles as poured--they quickly dissipated. Stones and ginger and delicate fruit on the palate (quince perhaps). Minerally Riesling nose. Well balanced and delicate wine.
I had with an excellent appetizer of early asparagus (cooked just right--still crisp) with morels and spring peas and light sauce similar to Hollandaise but not as heavy. Also sipped the Riesling with my entree of Northwest sea bass with asparagus, fingerling potatoes and the bass stuffed with a lemon-olive mix. Couldn't pass up a dessert of strawberry shortcake with strawberry tartar, orange mascarpone and strawberry sorbet.
