from Wachau, Austria $39.99 per bottle
Qualitatswein F4980/99
12.5% alcohol
Medium gold color. Lots of minerality and a strong petrol element such as some German Rieslings exhibit.
Tart green apple flavor. Tasted so much better on the second and third evenings. Nose of lemon, grapefruit, and light bit of ammonia. Petrol nose has disappeared. Plenty of minerals and acid. Paired with Cheshire cheese--not the best match and lightly breaded lemon chicken--a better pairing for this wine.
