Golden in colour so was worried about a bit of oxidation as the cork was well into the bottle (1/2 cm?). Nose was a bit reserved but nice, bit of petrol but fruit seemed to have subsided. A bit of a drier Spatlese, I understand the focus of the '04's but this one seemed a bit muted to me. Good texture though, hint of slate and saltiness. Might wait bit before opening up another one

Better the second night (yes WW, did not finish this bottle by meself [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img] )
Fruit came back and there was a much better balance. Looks like this thing was in a bit of a sleep. Might pick up a few more.
