- TheEngineer - 06-13-2007 This wine has a very pretty light hay color, very bright, nice compact nose of citrus and white peach, nicely crisp (almost a true kabinett), great acidity, nice minerality and very elegant. A bit much at $24 a bottle as there are better at this price but still a pretty and nice bottle - wondersofwine - 06-15-2007 Engineer, did it give a locale such as Wehlener Sonnenuhr or just Mosel or not even that? - TheEngineer - 06-15-2007 Nope This is one of the simpler German labels that I've seen. I guess it whatever is left at the end of the day but still pretty good. Mybe I can get a job there and they will give me all the scrapes .... then again, anyone hiring at Heitz?? - TheEngineer - 09-02-2007 Second bottle was noticeably better! Nice for the price and the last bottle was not bad. This one was just more vibrant and a tad more towards the tropical fruit side. Bubbles in full display. Perhaps it needed just a little more time to settle down. Took like 20 minutes to polish off a bottle between a two people..... - wondersofwine - 09-05-2007 While I was browsing German wines at Macarthur's Beverages in DC and considering purchasing either the JJ Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spatlese or the F. Weins-Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spatlese (both 2005) the clerk came over and recommended the latter which was less expensive. He says the F. Weins-Prum is actually better so I brought a bottle home to try and will report later. (I also bought a half-bottle of a Dr. Loosen 2005 Erdener Pralat Auslese and a red Burgundy from Hospice de Beaune. |
