This Rheinhessen wine has only 7.5% alcohol by volume. It was the old gold color I would expect of an older Rhine wine and had good clarity. Nose was both flowery and evocative of spiced peaches. Not much petrol on this one. Palate showed spiced peaches again, very nice impression in the mouth, but the finish faded rather quickly. It was sweet without being cloying. I had it as a dinner wine with oven-fried chicken and as a dessert wine. Would purchase again if I see it. Strub is considered to be a good vintner.
