Hi. I'm collecting Champagne Tops, known in French as 'plaques de muselets' or 'capsules de Champagne'. I collect the tops from all sparkling wines, not just genuine Champagne.
I'm talking about the little metal cap that protects the champagne cork from being cut by the wires - those which are lithographed, printed, or embossed.
If anyone reading this is willing to keep champagne tops for donating to my collection, I'll be very grateful. I can also use duplicates for trading.

Thanks, and Cheers!

I remember a previous post months ago.

Wish I could help, but when I open a bottle of Champagne or Sparkling Wine, I keep the "plaques de muselets -or- capsules de Champagne".

I also keep the wire cage and the cork - I reassemble the three.

Are you looking for quantity or variety? We stick to two brands, Clicquot and Taittingers. There might be a few of those little doo-dads in the cork basket under the kitchen counter, but they would all be of those two wines. Where should we send 'em?

Yes, [mrdutton], I re-post my announcement every 2 to 3 months so that it will more likely be seen by those who have joined recently.

Well, in fact my collection actually started with about a dozen "capsules" which had been accumulated -- much like yours it seems -- by an occasional imbiber (each cap had a handwritten date on a paper label taped inside; the dates ran over several years.} Eventually these were thrown away but rescued for me by a friend who knows what odd stuff I'm likely to collect.

If you, on the other hand, ever decide that you'd like to send some of your duplicates to me in exchange for some of my duplicates, then you'll be graduating from an accumulator to a collector too!

Thanks to [hotwine] for responding positively. I'm looking both for variety and quantity -- all donations gleefully accepted. I'll email my postal address to everyone who wants to help. Thanks!
