Demoiselle
Cuvee 2000
$10 (retails for aprox. $33)

This is from one of the older houses in Champagne, est. 1975.

Steady, tiny bubbled streams. Lemon and light yeast on the nose. Lemon merangue(please pardon the spelling) with a very creamy, lingering finish and a touch of light yeastiness on the palate. Tart, zippy acid. This would be an ideal appertif wine.

Its one major flaw is that it lost its effervesence entirely to fast, although it was still quite tastey despite this.

Extremely great deal at 10 bucks. Still pretty good at the full retail.

Is the 10 potato deal with employee discount? WW

No discount. The Fred Meyers up here carry it. Come to think of it, they are the only store I have seen the wine in. One of them is selling it at 10 and Mumm's Extra dry at 15 (also got a bottle of that to try).

Barnsey,
In case no one else mentions it, Fred Myers has some great deals on wine, especially closeouts. The ones I've shopped at in Portland had a wine section larger than most wine shops where I live now. Good selection, an especially good local wine selection.

Some of the larger fred meyers even have stewards. One by my house has a guy that must be gaga over rhones....He's got stacks of them from CDR to CDP and everything inbetween around and near all over the place. He could use some organization help....but if you want a rhone...he'd be the dude to check with.
