- VouvrayHead - 12-04-2009 This is my first Muga Reserva. Black cherry, spice, some earthiness... It's a bit bigger than I expected, but it still is pretty light on its feet with good acids. A nice balance between power and elegance. A really nice bottle of wine here, it seems like it's pretty open for business (after some time in the decanter), though with plenty of time left. - winoweenie - 12-05-2009 Price? WW - Thomas - 12-05-2009 This one is free, WW. But you must write a typo-free essay on why you deserve to have it sent to you. About $12/bottle, I think. - VouvrayHead - 12-05-2009 I think it was around $20, may have been a dollar or two more. Looks like this bottling used to be cheaper, though Dan is better informed than I about this. Speaking of, Dan, are you still getting this most vintages? And if so, have you tried the '05? And what are your thoughts on it? - winoweenie - 12-05-2009 I new there'd be some cachet to the bloomin offer. Prices for the wine range from $12 to $22, based on which version you get and which retailer you are stuck with... - VouvrayHead - 12-06-2009 Yep, you're absolutely right. It was unfiltered. I haven't seen the cheaper version at all in St Louis or Illinois. |
