I've found the best European QPR these days be from Spain. Bodegas Atalaya 07 was my latest conquest. What a sexy, moderately priced wine this is ($14 and change). Bing cherry, blackberry produces a laser beam concentration that develops into a lasting finish. Consumed with some calamari sauteed in lemon, garlic, tomato sauce. While it may not have been the ideal pairing, it was a darned fine meal because of the wine.

i have been trying to get of this wine... i have heard is a blend of Monastrell, Garnacha Tintorera, and other red grapes. some of my friends who have tasted it call it the best wine in the world. i hope they are not exaggerating.

No, they are not exaggerating. I've had hundreds of the "best wines in the world." Why not one more?
