This is a 75% Tempranillo/25% Shiraz blend from Castilla. It was a dark reddish-purple in the glass, with some plush berry and plummy aromas and flavors, but I didn't like a component to it that reminded me of that waxy, filmy coating on fake plastic fishing worms. Anne didn't notice that, but she did say there was something "funky" about it. It didn't overpower it so as to make it undrinkable, but it certanly detracted from the wine. Better the second night. Alc. 13.5%. We paid $8 locally, but I think there are better Spanish value wines at that price point. FWIW, WE gave it an 85 (Aug.1, 2007), and also noted a "rubbery" note on the finish.
