Old-style Rioja, well aged, with tart strawberry fruit and vanilla oak. A few dusty tannins hold the thing together in the finish, which brought on some cinnamon. A nice wine from our Mexico trip, consumed in the worst possible stemware -- old, bulbous, hand-made (hand blown?) glasses. Not decanted. I'd like to try this some time after decanting and in the right stemware, as I'm pretty sure there was more going on. About $25 USD. Better than the '95 I posted on some time back.
