Blend of Monstrell (40%), Tempranillo (40%), and Cab (20%).

Deep red color, bordering on opaque. Opened it a bit cold (cellar temp), and some heat was present. Let it sit for a while before retrying. Anise and pepper on the nose and entry, with a fruity core of blackberries. Almost jammy with some earth on the finish. This is a big, mouth-filling wine. 14.5% alc. You'll definately be able to find it on the shelf, as the label is evidently written in Martian. I've seen it elsewhere for $10, but I picked it up at Whole Foods for $16. I'm going to pick up a few more bottles and let them sit awhile. I'll also decant the next one. Roberto wrote about it recently very favorably in his newsletter, and I'd agree with his assessment -- a lot of wine here for little $. I'm really loving the new stuff from these lesser-known Spanish regions right now.
