Very basic, tossed with linguine, any pairing suggestions?

Verdicchio. Get the one in the fish shaped bottle and make a vase or chandlestick out of it.

Do not get the one in the fish shaped bottle--the ones sent to the U.S. generally aren't the best. In fact, it isn't easy to find the best Verdicchio wines here; you need a good wine shop for that.

Go with Terlano Pinot Grigio or Pinot Bianco, or another of either from Trentino.

If you get the fish fresh enought (thinking '05) it can be a great value to accompany a variety of seafood that is not too highly spiced.

Yeah, but it is not representative of real Verdicchio. The real stuff is on a par with real Soave and real Orvieto, all of which have been given bad reputations in the U.S. because of the plonk that has been sent here in the past.
