From the Carinena DOC of Aragon, this product of Bodegas San Valero is not your usual Tempranillo. This dude has lots of ripe fruit, a little spice undertone, and lasting finish. Would not use it as a sipper, but it worked very nicely with mustard-green chicken tamales and black beans. (The tamales were made from scratch by a friend of friends, visiting from Mexico.... we've never had such tamales in our lives! Incredible!) The wine was all of 12.5% alc/vol and $6.99. As they say on the left coast, back up the truck!

The devil with the truck flash freeze the tamales and send them hummers to Phoenix. WW
