I have two bottles of red wine from rene barbier resurva, the vintage's are 1978 & 1979..RB was founded in 1880, and the bottles were a gift from one ov the barbier family, my question is... has anyone ever herd of them? If so any idea on what the value of the wine might be? Please help.

Rene Barbier used to be a fine wine house and still turns out some really nice stuff, a ton of which, asdly, is not imported. The "resurva" you mentioned (sure it's not "riserva'?) was a great bottle of Tempranillo they made and sold well back when Reds were still the step-children of the American wine world. They were not, as I recall, imported to the US. If they are Riserva Tempranillo, and were stored correctly, there's nor reason why they wouldn't be potable now. I recently had a bottle of 1970 Castillo Ygay that was dazzling. I wouldn't wait any longer to open them, though. especially if you don't know their history. Pop 'em, drink 'em and let us know how they were!

and i hope that you dont mind if i ask you a little more...
for the first bottle the vintage is 1978 the lable is rene barbier reserva red table wine,
and the other bottle has a lable // estate bottled rene barbier family reserve, i have had these bottles for years and have worked the sedement from turning them every otherday towrdes the neck...now my question.. are they somthing to hold on to or would they worsen with age, seeing as they were a gift from the barbier family to me... i have kept them for years.
