This is their basic bottling, much more traditional in style than others they make, such as the explosive Calvario. Light garnet in color, with a nose of strawberries, plums, and oak. Opens with oaky flavors, and it needs some air time for the fruit to catch up. When it comes around, shows nice, tart red fruit, good acidity, and not a little oak. A minor problem with it is it finishes just a touch sweeter than we'd like. Anne, in particular, noticed it. Anyway, it was enjoyable, but nothing special. Alc. 13%. Ran about $20. FWIW, WS 90; WE 91 and Ed's Choice. I'd score it below those, but I'm not into the scoring thing.
