Dark and brooding in the glass, with dark fruit and black pepper on the nose, more dark fruit joined with white pepper on the palate, a hint of brown dirt and sweet young shallots pulled fresh from the garden. With rainy Saturday afternoon munchies of Romano and water crackers. Another Sam's Club offering, $9.68 and 13% alc/vol. Saw the same juice at a discounter yesterday for $11.99; will buy more.

If you liked the Reserva, you will love the Gran Reserva. I bought a "gift pack" In Sam's Club (during my visit to Puerto Rico) for $20.00. I haven't seen the Gran Reserva in Florida.

Had the '02 last night with D's tostados. Pretty much the same notes as the '99, although a bit lighter, not as much earthiness.... but still very nice. Still the same price and 13.5% alc/vol.
