Popped this one last night and decanted it about 45 minutes. Fruit not showing initially, and I was worried that it may have been over the hill. First impression of oak and some acidity. Evolved at around the hour and a half mark, with nice cherries and strawberries opening up, the oak receeding into a supporting role of vanilla. Old-style Rioja. Bright ruby color (but with a hint of rust/orange that will, I'm sure, become more pronounced the longer it goes as it winds down it's time), strawberry and vanilla nose. Since the fruit did come out to play, I wouldn't say it's over the hill at this point, nor would I want to hold it more than another couple of years. Not a great wine, but a nice old Rioja at $14. Alc. 12.5%.

Paired nicely with a couple of Trading Spaces episodes on TLC. Fun show
