Well,

I finally found one I can drink. Very nice, refreshing after being in the 100 degree sun, a strong taste of grapefruit. This is the third one I have tried, the others were too acidic for me to stomach.

Still, this is not my favorite grape. I prefer juice of the grape, not grapefruit juice.

You're correct that it tastes grapefruity but I like that quality.

That hint of grapefruit is a very desirable quality in NZ SB's. It's exactly the expression of the terroir in Marlborough that they're trying to capture. There's another slight bit that you may have missed, and that's the little hint of gooseberries. You'll frequently find that expressed as a hint of cat pee (but in a good way). Those are things I look for in the NZ Marlborough SB's. Cloudy Bay was the innovator in Marlborough for those qualities, but since they have become the "benchmark", they have priced themselves off my buy list.
