'02 Gallo Bros, Frei Bros, Redwood Creek, California, Sauvignon Blanc ($6.99 Supermarket). 13% Alcohol. Bought this one intending to cook with it, but changed plans and drank it afterall. Surprise, surprise, it was not bad at all. Tropical fruit and spice on the nose and upfront; citrus and other fruit, with crisp acidity cross the palate; and it finished nicely. Maybe a faint hint of oak, but no more. Matched it with broiled sea scallops and salad in blue cheese dressing.

Very nice meal on a very sad night.

I also agree, I couldn't decide what bottle to pull partly because I didn't care with the passing of the Pope. Also I would have felt worse if I had pulled a nice bottle while the world mourns.
