At our Friday night tasting, someone sneaked in the Domaine de Pouy '02 Côtes de Gascogne Vin de Pays. It blew the doors off the 2001 Brancott Reserve SB, and it only costs $7. I understand that WA gives it an 88. Clean, crisp with a boat load of tropical fruit.

I've heard that the French are doing more interesting things with their Vins de Pays, but thought that most were still catch-alls. I am willing to try more, after being seriously disappointed by lots of AC wines over the years.

Get this stuff and drink it up while the weather is still warm.
